Hi All,

I currently have a natwest account which everything is paid into and out of. I have a Natwest Loan which they will not allow me to cancel and this comes out the same day I get paid so I have no way of not paying it. Will this be seen as favouring one lender over the other?

I am going to set up a cash account if I get accepted and transfer my household bills to that and wages so when I go BR the natwest will just shut down.

Hi Ashamed,

You'll have the last laugh. The OR will deem this as preferrential payments (not your fault) and will claw back the loan payments from Nat West and distribute them pro-rata to all your creditors.

I have called to open a Co Op account today but it has been referred :( As long as can get it all done for next month then it will only be one payment, annoying as I am on maternity pay so paying the loan this month is going to hit hard.

Hi Ashamed,

I dont know what to say about this situation, as really at the moment you have no choice.
The sooner you get another account and change your DD's and where your wages are paid into, maybe then it can be stopped.
As for favouring at the moment you have no choice.
When are you going BR. You can get a coop account before as some have and start it then, i changed my dd's to a family members whilst we were going through the BR bit, then whenwe had gone BR i opened my new account and retook on the DD's myself.
OH wages came to us via old bank account, but unlike you all our dd's came out on the first, oh wages went in on the 28th so we could get the money out.
Hope you get sorted out.
Take care
Jo :)
