Hi Andrew,

That's a tricky one to answer as there are so many variables. My colleagues on the helpline would be able to give you some clearer information.

hi julian,
i spoke to the OR and they told me i would be liable for the full amount, if i was to withdraw the cash as i have a family to keep and the possiblility in the current climate of not finding a job straight away would it place me in deep trouble?

Hi Andrew,

Your BR discharge could be suspended and a BRO given, as well as the OR taking the full amount off you.

Given your situation, why not have a chat with one of my colleagues on the helpline who can advise you further?

Hi Andrew,

The OR will find out through your tax records if you are made redundant. How much do you estimate your redundancy package to be?

julian,
there is a real opurtunity of redundancy in the coming months, what is the penalty if i didnt disclose the settlement?
how would they find out?
JulianDonnelly Posted - 29 September 2008 : 14:22:20
Hi Andrew,

It is unsusual but not undeard of an OR requesting bank statements after BR. The most common circumstance would be if you were in an IPA/IPO or if the OR had received a complaint about you.
