Can anyone please tell me if it is worth having someone to deal with your BR professionally? I know there are several companies that do this and charge an 'arm and a leg' for the priviledge. I don't think I would do this myself, I couldn't afford it but do these companies prey on vulnerable people like us or are there some really geniune ones? I would be interested to know. Thanks. I would indeed give these a call either company, they offer the free consultation and you never know it might actually put your mind at rest and give you an idea of what road to take and when.

Hi
I would suggest that you make a call to one of the experts on the site and have a conversation - I know that England jackman & Spacey or Reviva UK DO NOT CHARGE TO TALK and often all you need is a chat with someone to feel a little better and get some guidance.
On the whole Br is a straightforward business BUT, and it is always the but that needs to be discussed prior. Make the call, have a chat and at lease either company will be able to help you get a strategy / timeline together for what to do and when.

Thank you for all your replies. I was advised to do this although I don't have assets, it seems that mine is slightly complicated. A friend has offered to help with the financial side of it but I don't want to get 'seen off' as I have heard so many horror stories. I might consider doing this as BR seems like such a minefield. I believe as Julian has said that there are times when you do need the help of a professional to deal with your BR, if you have a home or business then to pay to get that advice and save those items is money well spent.

For example, England, Jackman & Spacey provide a superb assisted bankruptcy service, but will only take a case on if a professional service is warranted (ie assets to protect etc). If you are unsure whether a professional service would be adviseable in your case, please speak to one of my colleagues on the helpline who will be able to ascertain whether it would be appropriate in your case.

There are some genuine companies out there - Reviva who post on this forum for one.
To be honest my view is if I had the money to pay a company to fill out my BR forms etc, I wouldn't be going BR in the first place! I completed the forms online, and they are very long winded but there are guidance notes.
Some of the companies do prey on vulnerable people and what they get up to is downright dodgy.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
