Posted - 09 November 2008 : 07:22:32 Hi ALL Wondered if anyone knew or had a similar experience, and how to deal with it. I declared BR 30th June and have just agreed and IPA with the OR, SO was amazed to receive a DEBT collection agency letter demanding monies for an outstanding debt (that was included in the BR, when submitted the forms). I can only assume that the company in question i.e. Virgin media are so big, the right does not know what the left is doing (would not be the first time)!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated once again!! This forum as for many others has been a saviour in times of great stress and confusion. THANKS!!
Kind Regards S10

Posted - 09 November 2008 : 13:20:21 Skippy is absolutely right.
I too have had the misfortune to work for VM (via a roundabout route) and I can confirm they are the most utterly clueless bunch of numpties on the planet, second only that is of course to pretty much all debt collection agencies.
I expect the collection agency was Moorcrofts.

Posted - 09 November 2008 : 13:10:11 Don't worry about it, once you're BR there is nothing the creditor can do.
BTW I can confirm that Virgin don't know what they're doing - I used to work for them when they were Telewest and unless there's been a dramatic change (which I doubt!) there was no communication between departments.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Posted - 09 November 2008 : 11:17:06 Hi s10,
I have had several letters like yours and have sent them all to my OR. He phoned last week and said that he had written to all of creditors on 25th Oct (went BR on 9th Oct) so if we got any letters dated after this he wants them because they are then breaking the law. I would in the meantime send everything to your OR and certainly dont pay anything else your end up in trouble.
Take care Tracy XX |

Posted - 09 November 2008 : 08:00:09 Hi S10
The short answer is NO.
I would send this letter to your OR and make sure they are aware of the situation and that you dont pay anything to Virgin like they have asked.
The OR is there to deal with this and not you.
