Posted - 06 August 2009 : 15:54:34 Hello - can anyone help with this? I went on my DMP in 2006 and never touched anymore credit from that point onwards, I just made my payments on time every month for the next couple of years and all was fine. Then in 2008 when I went to uni to enrol on year two of my degree I was told that I could not return to uni because my fees for 2007 had not been paid - I was under the impression that my government were paying them due to my low income. Anyway it turned out that I was not entitled to government funding for that year due to previous study and therefore I had to pay those fees. This was £3150 and obviously I didnt have that money so I had no option but to take a loan out for this to pay these fees. Well I paid the loan for ten months on time every month, and picked up more (maternity cover) hours at work to ensure I could. Now the lady on maternity has retuned and I am returning to uni and so my wages have taken a huge drop - I have therefore made myself bankrupt. My only concern is that will I get into trouble for taking that loan whilst on a DMP? Scared of BRO |

Posted - 07 August 2009 : 18:43:20 You'll get the paperwork to sign for an NT code whether you will get one or not - I had to sign it even though I went BR too late in the tax year.

Posted - 07 August 2009 : 16:57:28 He said no IPA as no disposable income. He is not sure about the nil tax code as come September I wont be earning enough to pay tax so I guess it wont be worth them bothering - not sure - he said he'll send me the nil tax code stuff but he thought it was probably pointless.
Im SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy tonight!!! |

Posted - 07 August 2009 : 14:10:57 Hi Helen, I am so pleased it went well for you. I am not BR yet but I am sure I will feel as you did about the OR interview when it happens. Try to relax now you have done the hard bit and if there is anything else you will be able to deal with it as you have got this far. Take care and all the best for your debt free future.

Do you think that is it now then? Do I just sit back and wait for discharge now? Or might something else go wrong? |

Posted - 07 August 2009 : 11:13:26 Hi guys!
Just to let you know that the OR interview could not have gone better! It was AMAZING!!! The OR was so nice and professional and totally understood why I was in the situation I was - he helped me with all the questions and was very easy to talk to. He only really asked me about the two big debts and I easily explained them and he seemed totally happy with my answers.
At the end of the interview he said "Ok Helen that is the end of the interview, you wont hear from us again unless you receive early discharge which is a possibility".
I am so happy I literally cried!!!
Im almost scared to relax incase something happens to mess it up :) |
