Posted - 23 March 2011 : 15:42:28 My parents are disabled but I am their sole driver my dad bought my car £500.00 so that I could take them places I use the car to get to work and today I have had a bump. my insurance company is unclear whether I am insured even though I told them. My question is can my dad give me the car back and the official reciever not take it off me as i need it to get to work and take my disabled parents out to the hospital and shopping etc

I have been to court and got a bankcruptcy number I sold my car to my dad as I was worried that my mom and dad would not be able to get about so my dad bought my car for the same amount I paid for it two years ago,can my dad give it back to me just to rectify the insurance problem

Posted - 23 March 2011 : 16:13:50 HI Chris
are you already BR or going to court soon ?
If you are uninsured you would potentially get 6 POINT penalty and or potential ban and or fine. need to really argue this one with insurance company are the policy payments upto date
Not certain of how / why you sold your car to your dad, if you need the car for work and its true value is under £2K it would more than likely be exempt in bankruptcy.
if sold for £500 and car worth a lot more you may / will face challenges
