Posted - 18 January 2010 : 14:11:18 Hi forum,
I have 6 weeks left before I am dishcarged from BK. I have been worried that I may get a BRO and I wondered if there was still a chance I could end up with one even though I am near the end of my bankruptcy?

Posted - 18 January 2010 : 17:58:22 I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Xmas Baby, but as the others have said the OR is cutting it fine if he's thinking of a BRU.
Good luck x

Posted - 18 January 2010 : 15:47:45 my case went to RTLU several months ago, so I assumed the OR had finished with my file then. I will be so pleased if I end up without a BRO as I thought there was a good chance of me getting one. Some of my debts were down to gambling, but I attended counselling and have not gambled since, so maybe the OR took that into account.

Posted - 18 January 2010 : 15:38:43 You should be safe now. According to the Insolvency Helpline the OR sends you a letter 6 weeks before the court date for the application of a BRU so they are cutting very fine if they are thinking about one.
quote: How will I know if the Official Receiver intends to apply for a BRO against me?
You will receive a letter from the Official Receiver at least 6 weeks before the Court hearing date. The letter will include a copy of the application to the High Court, the report and supporting evidence giving details of the alleged misconduct. This letter will inform you of the hearing date and of the period that the Official Receiver suggests would be appropriate for the BRO to run.
You will be asked to acknowledge receipt of the documents on a form that you should return to the Court within 14 days.

Posted - 18 January 2010 : 14:55:37 Thanks Chester,
Just what I thought. Another 6 weeks of worrying to go then. I'll be glad when this 12 months is over.
