Posted - 19 January 2010 : 10:38:15 I was made bankrupt in June 2009 and I am a selfemployed. Do I need to fill in a self assesment for the year 2008/2009 or not because it's before my bankruptcy. Am I going to owe Inland Revenue money for that period or that will be clear with my bankruptcy? Thanks

Posted - 19 January 2010 : 11:17:47 hi and welcome to the forum yes you need to fill out a SA tax return for that time but any tax owing upto your BR will be included in your BR so that includes 08/09 and april 09 to your BR date in June 09 you only become liable for tax from your BR date
