Have a look at a Debt Relief Order (DRO) as you may qualify if you are on a low income. It only costs £90 rather than the £510 for BR.

There is information regarding DROs and their criteria at http://debtrelieforder.org.uk/commonly-asked-debt-relief-order-questions and companies that are approved intermediaries at http://debtrelieforder.org.uk/debt-relief-order-competent-authorities

If you don't qualify for a DRO then the forms and the guidelines on the qualifying benefits are available below:

have you looked into a DRO instead of BR
for DRO less than £15000 debt, less than £50 DI and no assets

if on certain benefits (not sure about income alone) you can avoid paying £150 of the £510 court fees

RevivaUK and Paul Johns helped me through it all i can't recommend them enough!!
