Posted - 24 January 2010 : 23:16:46 I have a question, i was made bankrupt in Feb 09, I got a letter in September saying that i have been discharged. Does this mean i am no longer classed as a bankrupt, also this may seem silly, but can i apply for a mortage.

As you are discharged it means you no longer have to tell creditors when you want to borrow more than £500 but even as a discharged BR you are likely to need a large deposit to qualify for a mortgage. Even then you may still have to pay a higher interest rate.

Look on the Insolvency reguister site - if you are not ther, the you are adischarged.
You may wasnt tget a certicicate of discharge fro the court you petitioned at - may cost a small fee.
Then get cleaning your file,
