i have recently been made redundant from place of work and cant afford to pay my debts. i have tried monthly repayment plans and cannot afford those either and my credit is in a state of disrepair and now do not have sufficient credit scoring to apply for another loan to consildate my debts. now that i am out of work i do not know what steps to take to now declare bankcruptcy. any information on how to start proceedings would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning Michael,

Good advice already given.

Do you have any assets, i.e. property or car in particular?

Speak to one of the insolvency advisers - Paul from Reviva has been mentioned - I am sure he will have some suggestions for you to explore. There are amongst the best advisers in the U.K. on the left of the page - seek some ideas and then start to plan and move forward. You have already recognised that you have to do something.

If you are a home owner, there are ways of moving on without losing that asset.

Come back as necessary and someone here will be able to help you, Richard

Hi Michael 123

The last thing you want to do is try and get another loan anyway, if you can’t already afford to repay your debts.

Bankruptcy is a big step to take and you need to get professional advice before making a decision.

Everyone’s circumstances are different and some are more complicated than others.
You could either go to your local CAB for advice or use an assisted bankruptcy company like I did.

Paul Johns at Reviva UK helped me through my bankruptcy including help with filling in forms, going to court with me and attending my interview with the OR. I could not have got through it all without him.

Everyone as different views and ideas on getting advice and I’m just telling you what are did which worked out for me.

You have nothing to lose by phoning Reviva UK and having a chat.
