Posted - 26 January 2010 : 15:25:38 Hi, wondered id someone could help me. I went bankrupt after my husband left to live with another woman. I was discharged in November 2009 but the house has still not been dealt with nor the endowment policy but i will receive nothing from these. I have also got to pay £65.00 per month for another 23 months (subject to change depending on income and expenditure). I have met someone else and want to be with him but it would mean me re-locating to another part of the country, therefore having to leave my job etc, would i be in trouble if if i did this. Also, i want to start divorce proceedings but am unsure as to how i would pay for costs. Also, if i were to receive anything monetarily from the divorce would i be able to keep it now that i am discharged or not? I have been feeling trapped because of circumstances but feel i need to start taking control of my life again and grabbing a chance of happiness. I would be grateful for any advice. thanks in advance! |

Posted - 26 January 2010 : 19:22:47 Thankyou for your response, it was very helpful. with regards to the IPA, i have a trustee and my bank statements say the payments have his company name as recipients of payments, therefore would it be them i would contact over re-location or still Moonbeever? Kind regards.

Posted - 26 January 2010 : 15:35:28 Hi,
The £65 per month you are paying will be for the IPA. This amount will change whenever your income increases or decreases. If you decide to relocate and give you your job there will not be a problem with this. You will need to contact MoonBeever (the company that you pay the £65 to) and advise them that your income has changed and the IPA payments will stop until you have more than £99 DI.
As you are discharged you are able to keep any lump sums so if you were to receive some money from the divorce it would be yours to keep. |
