Posted - 28 January 2010 : 11:11:13 Received Early Discharge Form today.
My husband and I went bankrupt on 4th June 2009. Back in October I received a form for Early Discharge. I filled out the same day and returned it and have been checking the register everyday since (lol). Not that I was in a rush to get it as I didnt really mind, just got into a habit and always done it before I logged onto here :-). Anyway I received my Early Discharge Letter today and it says I was discharged on 31st December 2009. What a great way to start a new year :-) |

Posted - 30 January 2010 : 18:38:06 Thanks guys. Im not in a great rush to worry about clearing up my credit file. I dont want any more debt, ever. I will eventually clear it up, but really I have 6 years to do this.
Richard (Housing) I do try and get on this site everyday. I love reading the posts on here and have learnt so much. Im so glad I found this site. It has been so supportive and calming to me and thousands of others. I will still log on and have a read even after my early discharge and hope to help some people out too with my experience :-)
Happy debt free lives to all from a sunny Devon :-)

Posted - 28 January 2010 : 12:23:25 Well done Shelley. Don't forget to print off a couple of copies of the Register showing you have been discharged in case any future creditors/banks need this.
I would wait a couple of months (or 3 until you fall off the Register) and then you can follow the instructions in the following thread to clean up your credit file - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=677875 |

Posted - 28 January 2010 : 11:22:31 Hi shelleyandrew,
Good to see you posting again.
A very happy 2010 to you and yours and in particular as you have an early discharge
You can now look to tidy up your credit file and follow Skippys blog - there are also other places to go for how to do that - I am not at discharge yet, but only 4 months to go
Have a wonderful debt free life and look after each other. Richard
