Is there a list of trigger figures for claiming allowable expenses during bankruptcy,to help determine monthly disposable income. |

Normally travel expenses are only to/from work but it will really depend on the OR. The figures the OR works from are only guidelines rather than something that is set in stone. If the travel to London is part of a recognised qualification and your daughter has been on the course for a while then it may be a recognised expense.
Don't forget that even if your daughter is required to pay an IPA this will be between 50% and 70% of her DI (Disposable Income) so she would be able to use the excess for her travel costs. |

thanks for info.Asking for daughter, who is about to file for bankruptcy. She is concerned that travel expenses will be abnormal as travels by car to london every other week to volunteer at a youth project.Do they have some flexibility if they feel this is justified? She has spent a long time qualifying to work with kids there and would hate to have to give it up. Works in Brum in a paid job rest of week.

welcome to the forum
not certain I understand your terminology for trigger figures.
when filing for BR you enter on the form your income and expenditure.
you should enter on your form what you actually spend, if you have claimed too much the OR will probably negotiate that with you, if you can show justification to why a particular area is higher than others they may let it stand.
I do not have the link to hand but their is a "guide line" to what you can claim and what areas are acceptable. I am certain that someone will post link soon but if you look back on other questions, it is a regular question and the link is regularily posted

It's the spreadsheet the OR will use to assess the viability of your claims. I've heard from some on here that you should avoid copying it verbatim, as the OR may be suspicious. Hope this helps.
