Posted - 29 January 2010 : 14:07:13 Hi everyone,
I can't believe it's almost February already!
Myself and husband went BR on 5th Jan and had OR interview on 13th Jan.
We are still getting letters from creditors demanding payment and threatening us with court.
Our Halifax bank account is still frozen so we can't get the bit of money that's left in there or close the account yet. We do have a Coop account all up and running which is great.
We had a few quotes for cheaper home insurance but the prices went up when we told them we are BR.
Our old house is up for sale now and I'm so glad we don't have to pay the shortfall because it's up for a lot less than we imagined!
I hope this gives an idea of what to expect for anyone going BR. We are so glad we did it and very relieved to have no more debts and a little bit of money for ourselves at the end of each month.
This forum is FAB!!!!!!!!
*~* I wish I had a magic wand *~*

If the Halifax were one of your creditors then they will take the money in the account and if not the OR will probably claim it (unless it is a very small amount) to pay towards your creditors.
