Follow Pauls advice TODAY as the clock will have already started ticking if you have received the statutory demand. You only have 18 days to respond with a 21 day timeframe.

depending upon who the statutory demand os from will identify how real the possibility is.
It is not difficult to postpone a Br hearing but to get a resolution you need to act quickly.
18 days from the issuing of a Statutory demand to file a defence, and after 21 days the creditor can petition for br

If you are having problems with paying your debts, then you could consider going for an IVA or a DMP.

Posted - 30 January 2010 : 18:23:27 by paying the debt, if you legally owe the amount and the debt is not statute barred, and you are not paying it then you cannot stop the bankruptcy.
having said that, many companies threaten but do not go through with a bankruptcy, what are the circumstances in your case
