Posted - 20 February 2010 : 11:06:05 does anyone know how quickly the OR should contact you because I went bankrupt on 3rd Feb and still have not heard from them. I have rang the office 3 times and just keep getting told they will ring. Getting slightly peed off |

Posted - 23 February 2010 : 08:46:30 That's good news Amy, I hope you don't hear anything else until you are discharged!
Just be aware though that the OR has up until discharge to put an IPA into place if your circumstances change.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
30 IPA payments made, 6 to go - the end is in sight! |

Posted - 23 February 2010 : 06:55:49 Yes, it doesn't sound like the OR is interested in applying for an IPA for you so you must have less than £100 DI.
Just because the OR has asked for your partner's payslips doesn't mean that they will definitely be paying an IPA either but they probably won't hear anything regarding this for another couple of months. Until that time you can keep any left over income you have as an IPA is not back-dated. |

Posted - 22 February 2010 : 19:48:39 thank you for quick reply. yes my partner recieved a letter today stating that the car was exempt so thats definately a good point. so the OR not wanting to contact me, does that mean that I will not be paying into an IPA! |

Posted - 22 February 2010 : 18:56:40 The OR has different 'Types' of BRs and each case fits into one of these. You can view the types at http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/freedomofinformation/technical/TechnicalManual/Ch1-12/Chapter11/part3/Part3.htm
From what you have said it sounds like you are Type 0, which means that you have explained everything fully in the SOA and there is no need for an interview.
Your partner should hear something official about the car (i.e. a letter stating it is exempt) within a month or so.
If he needs to pay an IPA this can normally take 2-3 months to set up so it may be a while before he hears anything regarding this.
The OR has contacted you regarding to say there is no need for an interview so everything is on their side now. You have provided all the information requested so sit back and enjoy the fact that the telephone doesn't ring every 15 minutes with creditors chasing you |

Posted - 22 February 2010 : 18:31:09 i received a couple of forms, ethnic forms and giving consent fir them to look into our taxes. I was not asked to send off any documents, payslips etc. he also wrote that i did not need to have an interview. i thought everyone had to speak to the or at some point. My partner had to send off 3 months payslips and that was it, he was also tiold that he would be able to keep the car and has heard no word as to whether we are going to be paying anything. We went bankrupt on 3rd February, thought things would be nearly all dealt with by now |
