I was discharged from bankruptcy in May 2006. After I get married this year I will be saving up to buy a place (once the 6 years have passed - gives me time to save for nice deposit). I thought I better start looking at my credit reports to make sure everything is satisfied but I have noticed that 2 of the debts that were included in the Bankruptcy (who I also sent letters with a copy of the certificate at the time of BR) have still got me down as owing. I am down as default on both. First question is the reports say defaults get taken off after 6 years so is that from the default date? (they also have updated dates which are way past BR/default date which i dont understand). Also, when I moved house i lost all my BR paperwork (incl. certificate) so can't send either of the companies a letter proving they were in the BR - is there any way of getting copies of this info? How do you get a copy of the certificate, when I went to apply they man said I needed a letter asking for one, is that from me? Or a company who wans to see it?
Thanks
Things can only get better...

If you don't have a BR certificate any more then you will probably need to contact the court where you were declared BR to get a copy.
