Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Posted - 07 March 2010 : 22:17:41 Hi Skippy thanks for that i meant to say £110 per week. Regards Ady |

Posted - 07 March 2010 : 22:12:40 £110 for food seems very low for 2 adults and 2 children. The maximum allowance is £504, but this is for food, housekeeping and cleaning.
Clothing allowance for 2 adults and 2 children is £156.
I'm not suggesting that you claim the maximum if you don't spend it, but please make sure your expenditure is realistic.
Other things you can claim for are telephone, travel, TV licence, dry cleaning (if needed), mobile phone, childrens's school meals and after school clubs and trips, dentist, prescriptions, opticians, pets (if you have them), professional body membership (if you have it), hairdressing, holiday (not always allowed, and only a modest amount). The figures for these aren't listed on the spreadsheet so just put down what you spend.

Posted - 07 March 2010 : 21:58:31 Hi Skippy, nice 1, I will try to get on here what I can, I am on the books and earn around £2,000 clear per month as a joiner my wife is a hairdresser on a vastly varying income due to rent a chair and can only really pay a nominal amout of around £240 per month to the kitty, my mortgage at present is £675 and I have a second charge of £275 per month we need £110 minimum for food (2 adults 2 children), council tax is £120 per month water rates £50 per month, i have redundancy insurance and accident and sickness £120 per month my wife has an old corsa car and our gas and electric is £100 per month I am in a grey area as to clothing allowances and medical plus my wife has sky tv. The main problem would be that if interest rates went up both my mortgages will rocket. Thanks |

Posted - 07 March 2010 : 21:41:00 I can't believe it's so near the end - I'll be celebrating on 28th June when the last payment goes out!
It's a huge spreadsheet, so I'm not sure if it'll be possible to paste it on here. The other way is to post your I & E on here and we'll have a look at it and make any suggestions of things you may have forgotten.

Posted - 07 March 2010 : 16:50:29 If you find that some of your expenditure is outside the guidelines you need to put down the true figure that you spend - if you can justify the extra there shouldn't be a problem.
