Posted - 16 March 2010 : 19:43:43 I've been a resident in the UK for 12 years, getting a State Pension here and also German State Pension. Would bankruptcy affect my German State Pension, respectively has the German State Pension Scheme been approved by HM Revenue & Customs?

Posted - 17 March 2010 : 09:22:21 I can't see BR affecting your state pension but the pension would have to be declared as income so depending upon your income/outgoings you could end up paying an IPA.
You would probably need to contact HMRC to see whether the German pension scheme has been approved or not. My guess is that it would have been as all EU countries have a reciprocal agreement regarding pension schemes.
