What happens next?
i had my OR interview over the phone on the 25th march and i dont know what happens now, i havent heard anything from her since, will she need to contact me again?.
Also i am still recieving letters and phone calls from creditors i am ingorning them at the moment as the OR said she would be contacting them, sorry for all the questions i am just a bit lost and worried at the moment :( |

welcome back ! six weeks since discharge except Halifax playing games how are things apres BR discharge ?

Hi I was discharged in Feb and received a letter from the Halifax on Saturday asking for £5500 !!! I rang the number and it was a solicitors office who didn't answer the phone.
This was covered in my BR. The letter has gone in the bin
I presume they keep trying just incase someone has some spare cash !!!!!

Don't worry about calls and letters, after all, there is nothing they can threaten you with now is there?
They will stop.

do continue to post as your recent experiences will help other distant observers to summon the courage to go through the process.
it normally takes 3 - 6 weeks for all of the creditors to get the message.
you will notice a significant reduction in mail and phone calls
The OR will only contact you if they need to and then probably only in 6 months time, sit back and take stock of life.

Thanks so much for replying, i feel much better, I have had no more phone calls!  (at the moment) so i am presuming the OR must be contacting them.
I have been using this forum from day one and its made things so much easier and less daunting.
So thanks to everyone on here for the advice.
And good luck to all those going through the process keep on using this forum its the only thing that kept me sane.  |

Hi sky, yes I agree now you are bankrupt just take the calls tell them you are BR and they will ask for your number and OR address usually. I kept a copy of my BR order next to the phone. Everyone that called was absolutely fine once I told them I was bankrupt and never unpleasant. The calls usually stop then although there are one or two that dont seem to pass the message on in their company. I also photocopied the BO and sent it with any statements that arrived from the credit card companies.
Dont worry the worst is over and it will all be OK. Best thing I did I can finay sleep at night.

hi and welcome to the forum
it is likely that the OR will not contact you again unless they have any other queries or want to set up an IPA
as for creditors you can send them all a copy of your bankruptcy order BO and they will contact the OR from there
or
answer the calls , tell them you are BR and give them the court name and number from the top of the BO xxx of 2010 they normally are happy to accept that and check up themselves and stop bothering you
i would recommend you do either of these because it can take months for the OR to contact them
