I am considering BR after a failed IVA and now in a DMP with payplan which I should be clear when I am 78. I suppose the debt will go to my grave with me.
I have no assets and a vehicle worth £800. I owe £32000 and am in arrears to the Council tax for 2009/09 of £2400 which i pay at £130 per month. What current arrears can i include in the BR and finally we have a joint account with nationwide for which my wifes income and Tax crdits go into. She pays the rent from that account. I have a Barclays Cash card account for my net salary of £1070 for which all the bills including the DMP and utilities incl arrears are paid. Could you confirm if the OR will just look at my income and what bills I pay or will he / she want to take my wifes income into account as well. I have nothing to do with paying the rent so does that matter.
A|lso how does the OR work out any payment to make to them with an IPO
Sorry about all the questions and thank you for your help

Hi Paul

You should include all the debts you owe if you make yourself bankrupt, including the council tax arrears.

Others on here are better informed to advise you regarding the IPA and the bank accounts, but generally I think the OR would look at combined income and expenditure to ensure you are not paying more than your fair share of the household expenditure - for example, if your earnings are half of the total household income, you should not be paying 3/4's of the household expenditure.

Hope that helps
