Posted - 23 April 2010 : 23:43:25 I've just had an IVA rejected (thank you Northern Rock) and am now looking at bankruptcy as the only viable option. I'm not at all worried about it, just concerned with a few logistical details. The main one is my bank account. As part of setting up the IVA I've already opened a Co-op Cashminder account which is now fully functioning with wages going in and all my bills coming out via direct debit. Am I now going to lose this account when I apply for bankruptcy? If so, what should I do to cover my bills when this happens and where do I go next for a bank account? My creditors are Northern Rock, Barclays, RBS and HBOS. |

Posted - 08 June 2010 : 21:09:53 Hi Bankruptcy
You have tried to pay something back to creditors but one creditor prefers not to accept, so bankruptcy it is, ensure you tell the OR of this in the interview, the CO-op account is good you can use the IVA docs to do your statement of affairs, Good Luck |

as long as your debts are not with the co-op and you have informed them that you are going BR (they may put you onto a cash minder account)the account should be safe

Don't panic! have you explored the IVA option with another company? I personally have no difficulty in getting Northern Rock IVA's accepted via the company i work for (we are rare!) If you would like me to have a look for you, i could let you know pretty quickly (during the telephone call) whether or not an IVA would be possible. Please feel free to contact me for a completely non-committal chat you will find my details on the 'experts' button on the left hand side of this screen
