Posted - 07 June 2010 : 13:13:16 Hi all,
Just looked on the insolvency register and my name has finally no longer there. I was discharged on 6th March 2010 and 3 months later my name came off the register. I still have another 2 years left on my IPA, but apart from that, my bankruptcy is now over, thank goodness.

Posted - 09 June 2010 : 10:46:47 I appreciate what you're saying, but if you don't tick the box any claim you made would most probably be invalid and I definitely wouldn't want to take that chance.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
35 IPA payments made, 1 to go - 19 days and counting! |

Posted - 09 June 2010 : 10:18:35 The point i`m tying to make is that, whats the reason for being able to drop off the Insolvency register, yet still be easy to find via a search on the London Gazette!!?.
I know we have to `come clean` when asked about our history...but there are times where i fail to see, why this information is needed...(home insurance)...and i for one, certainly wouldn`t tick that box.

Posted - 08 June 2010 : 18:19:39 Well, you do always have to declare you were bankrupt if asked, so that is why it isn't a decision to be taken lightly. It is with you for life but as Skippy points out, in reality you are unlikely to ever be asked. |

Posted - 08 June 2010 : 16:22:59 But who's going to look on the London Gazette? I really don't think anyone is going to find out that way so I wouldn't worry about it.

Posted - 08 June 2010 : 16:08:27 And there was me thinking the stigma of bankruptcy was finally put to rest. It seems that once bankrupt, they will never let you forget it, one way or another.
