I live in my partner house for five years,the house is not mine I do not make any contribution to the house,I do not have a mortgage, at the moment I am unemployed since october 2009 and I have a debt aprox 24000 pounds,I just wonder if I declare bankruptcy this will affect my partner

It depends if the property has any equity. If it does then the OR could say that you have an interest in the property even if you don't contribute to the mortgage as you have lived there for so long and want to release 50% of the equity. If there isn't any equity then it won't be a problem.

If the property does have equity I would suggest contacting either Paul for Reviva or Melanie from Jones Giles directly via the Experts link on the left-hand side of the screen. They may have advice on how to present your petition in order that your partner's property is not affected.
