Hi, I have my date to file OR and am completing the SoA, and I have a couple of queries, if anyone can help please.
At the moment, I own a house, which I am not living in as it is in a different part of the country, but am living with my partner and her daughter at her mothers house. I just pay a minimal amount to her Mum each week for food etc. I am in arrears with my mortgage (1 month) and have been trying to sell this for the last 7 months. My partner and I are hoping to rent somewhere very soon. The question is on the expenditure part of the SoA, do I put in what I am spending now whilst at partners Mum's or do I put in what my costs on my house would be i.e. mortgage, council tax, bills etc, OR approx what I would be paying if we rented somewhere. I am currently unemployed following redundancy so my income will not alter unless I get a job.
Question 2 is related to my assets. My house (the one 200 miles away) contains all my possessions, furniture etc as I will be moving these to our rented place once we get it....do I list this furniture individually or do I do a lump sum figure for household goods. No one item is worth more than £500.00, so is my valuation of them an accepted figure or do you have to get an independent valuation.
Many thanks for the advice, sure between now and the end of the month when I file in Gloucester I will have more queries.

Hi David

can i suggest not tell any of the creditors about your bankruptcy until vitually the court day, you do not want them taking control of your situation.

unfortuantley once you are on the hit list you will be inundated with phone calls, you are right you do not have to answer telephone calls. But from the creditors perspective they are hoping that you will have a change of heart and want to pay them !

IN fairness to Lloyds when i finally did go BR i called them on the phone and gave them the necessary references they were very quick to update their systems and the calls stopped very quickly

regards Richard

Thanks for that, much appreciated.
I wonder if someone can help with another query?

At the moment I am 2 months in arrears with a personal loan and credit card from Lloyds TSB and despite me contacting them straight away to explain my difficulty they have harrassed me to the point of despair - I now no longer answer my phone to them. I am 1 month in arrears with my mortgage again through Lloyds C & G and am currently up to date on a car loan from Lloyds Black Horse, although I will not be able to make the payment this month.
My question is should I tell the mortgage company and the car finance company that I will be going BR at the end of the month or should I just tell them after, as I really do not want anyone else harrassing me as they are all part of the Lloyds bank.

Lloyds have really peed me off, I have been a customer with them for over 15 years, had a fantastic credit rating, never missed a payment on anything, had all my insurances through them and then when I got made redundant - bang, they dont give a monkeys.......I hope the day will come when I am again in a position to have a bit of money behind me and there is no way Lloyds will ever see any of it!

Anyway enough of my moans, thanks for all your help guys.

Hi David

Gloucester Court tell all the clients to be there at 8.30am sometimes the clerk dont arrive till 9am, his name is Steve been there quite some time, you dont see a Judge here, but sometimes there is quite a long wait for the phone call to the recevivers office, although you are made bankrupt by about 9.30am it could be a further two hours before you are able to leave, hope that helps

I wouldn't bother listing the LCD TV. It may have been expensive when you first bought it but the OR is interested in the resale value of any assets so it would probably be worth less than £100 now with being 4 yrs old and, as you say, new LCD TVs can be bought for less than £500 now.

Many thanks gettingoutofdebt.
I do have a LCD TV which is 4 years old now and a new one could be brought for less than £500.00 , so do you think I should list this, I agree with most people on here better to be honest, so do not want to dao anything to upset the OR.....not looking forward to this as it is, so just wnat to make it as easy as I can.
Once again, thanks for the very swift reply
