Hi, can anyone help over court fees. I thought as I was on Job Seekers that the court fees of £150.00 would be waived, but the Gloucester court tells me that this will only be waived if it is income based JSA and not contributions based JSA. IU wont know what mine is until my claim is agreed, which I am still waiting for....this is 3 weeks since I made the application.
Could someone tell me if this is right, I would have thought JSA either contributions or income based was the same.

Hi Its not the same and only Income based is acceptable for fee remission also you will need a letter dated within the calender month you petition confirming your receipt of the benefit which you must be entitled to on the day. You can of course pay the court fee and have six months to reclaim

The guidance document for the fee remissions is available at http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/courtfinder/forms/ex160a_e.pdf and does specifically mention income based JSA rather than contributions based.
