Posted - 07 July 2010 : 12:10:27 My creditors what to make me bankrupt, I don't own a home an have little money in my bank account I have a joint account with my girlfriend were she pays all her bills from (mortgage council tax etc) but I don't live live with her can they take things from her home become of me?

Posted - 07 July 2010 : 17:07:48 No, if the finance is only in your name then you are fully liable for the debt. If the finance is joint then they could chase your girlfriend for the debt.
I haven't heard of Lombard actually making people BR so they may just be trying to pressure you.

Posted - 07 July 2010 : 12:38:59 Which creditors are threatening BR? Normally this is just an idle threat to try to get you to pay unless the creditors are HMRC or the Council as they will declare you BR.
If you are declared BR then they will not be able to take anything from your girlfriend's home.
