Posted - 20 August 2010 : 13:15:46 Hi ashley
suprisingly my wifes abbey / santander account was not closed during bankruptcy.
Our day to day account has been the coop cashminder they have been very good, we have even transfered car and household insurance to them
Abbey was not one of our creditors but santander has its fingers in many pies so i think that we owed them money somewhere along the line.
we are in the process of accessing the account, they do not appear to have a problem with us as a customer, but only going to keep a small amount in the account at first, in case they play games.

Posted - 20 August 2010 : 12:03:27 I don't think any bank will offer a full account until the BR has dropped off your credit file.
The Co-op Cashminder is recommended on here and it has a Visa Debit card and online banking.
Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last!

And there is the managed accounts too whereby you pay a subscription from £4 to £17 a month which come with a variety of services.
There is the undischarged bankruptcy friendly banks which would allow you have an account at discharge bankruptcy point these are Cooperative Bank, Barclays Bank and Coventry Building Society Money Manager account with cash card.
