Should I tell the receiver I have just been offered a new job (currently un-employed) will he find out? I know this sounds dishonest but I'm concerned that he'll take most of my salary and I have children to support.

Hi Mel,

As Viki says, if you have not been discharged then you will have to declare your new level of income to the OR. Remember with the new job will come new expenditure, travel, clothes, bills that you may have had help with whilst unemployed. So you won't necessarily have to pay anything order.

Good luck and keep us updated xx

Hi Mel.wi,

Welcome to the forum.

If you haven't been discharged, then you do have to tell the Official Receiver.

You will need to complete a new income and expenditure form, but you will be allowed all your essential living costs for you and your children. They will only take a percentage of any surplus at the end of the month, and you must have at least £100 for them to take anything.

You may not have to pay anything.

Good luck and please post again if you need any further help.
