Posted - 23 August 2010 : 13:29:06 Hi can anyone help please? Just filling in my income and expenditure form, there's two adults and 4 children under 16 living in the household, our average housekeeping expense is £680 a month and that doesn't include school meals which cost £177.00 a month, is this amount what an OR would allow? And also what's the amount they allow for travel expenses and children's clothing? I spend about £160.00 on traveling and with 4 young kids an average of £50 a month on clothes, can they say that's too much? How do they decide as everyone's circumstances are different. Many thanks.

Posted - 23 August 2010 : 17:44:07 Hi Chi,
I am also married with 4 children. I listed £650 for household not including school lunches and listed £150 for clothes per month and that was fine. Don't forget your haircut allowance, think mine came to £32 per month and also dentist, car servicing and car tax. Hope this helps

Posted - 23 August 2010 : 15:01:58 There are only guideline amounts that the OR follows but these can change depend upon the area that you live. The guideline amounts are only listed for 2 adults/2kids but the figures you have mentioned seem fine.
