Posted - 23 August 2010 : 21:35:39 Hi everyone
This is probably not posted in the correct place, but thought I should bring it to the forum's attention for anyone who is thinking of filing online. I just logged back on a few minutes ago and found this important message>>
# This Online Forms Service provided by The Insolvency Service which allows for the electronic completion of bankruptcy winding up petitions and statements of affairs will be phased out from Friday 3 September 2010.
# This means that as of Friday 3 September 2010 the facility to register as a new user on the system will be removed. Users who already have an account and are able to log in to this facility should not start new cases after 5pm, Friday 3 September.
# Cases that are already being processed must be completed as soon as possible after that date. To ensure that information is not lost, please ensure you complete all forms by 5pm, Friday 26 November 2010.
# Users can find the Microsoft Word versions of the forms available on our website and they can be accessed by selecting the following link Statutory and Insolvency-related forms link.
# The documents can still be completed on a computer and saved as working files before they are printed and taken to the Court. The system will be shut down on Tuesday 30 November 2010 and for reasons of Data Protection, any stored data will be deleted. |

Posted - 24 August 2010 : 15:47:01 You can type the forms in Word but when you type it affects the format so there is a lot of deleting to do.
Hand written forms are OK - for people that do it themselves get 2 coppies - first is a draft and the second is the final.
We have the forms especially produced as writable / savable pdf's so that they can be typed directly into while keeping the integrity of the formatted document.

Posted - 24 August 2010 : 10:47:23 It's a shame as I found the electronic forms easy to use - hand written ones would have been covered in Tippex!

I met with the developers of the web page and i understand that the Insolvency Service are not as happy with the results after using the system for a while.
There is very limited availability to explain ones position meaning more input from the Insolvency service. The tried and tested system fits better with the paper version than the electronic system so I assume they are sticking with what works better.

Thanks for this info. I hadn't realised until tonight that you could download MS Word versions to complete and take to the Court. This is much easier, and we are going to abandon the online applications and do that (fortunately we had not submitted them!). |

Posted - 23 August 2010 : 21:50:49 Thanks for that Searcher. I seem to remember hearing about changes in the BR procedure so I presume that this is part of it.
