Posted - 25 August 2010 : 09:34:22 Hi. Can anybody tell me how to get Barclays and their debt collectors off my back? I was discharged from my bankruptcy in Oct 2008. When my assets were realised Barclays and a few other creditors were not fully paid what they were owed. I heard nothing from Barclays until end of May tis year (2010) an constantly since. They initially said that dispite continual attempts to contact me, I had not responded, totally false! They are adding interest to the unpaid portion of the loan and have totally ignored my letters to them giving my Insolvency Practitioners name who had been dealing with them at the time and re iterating the fact that this debt had been legally written off with my Bankruptcy. Their latest letter has now informed me that I have been passed over to their debt collection agency for accelerated recovery. How do I get this to stop? My partner is terrified of bailliffs knocking on her door. Surely they are acting illegally. On my credit report held by Experian this account is marked as "satisfied" and the date given is my discharge date.

Posted - 25 August 2010 : 10:09:06 If the Debt Collectors call take all of their details (i.e. company name, address and telephone contact number) and inform them that you were declared BR a couple of years ago. Give them your BR details (i.e. BR ref number, court and OR details) and if they continue to refuse to accept you are BR then send their details to the OR/RTLU.
