By what you have written, no. Did you buy the house when you were together?
Bought together in 1993 but signed over to me in 1994 as he had an affair. I have paid the mortgage since day 1 and the endowment. His debts go back 7 years of which I didn't know about until very recently.

It could be at risk if it was seen that this was done to safeguard assets- was he solvent at the time do you know?
His debts only started about 7 years ago, the house has been in my name 16 years. Signed over becasue of his affair and me threatening divorce. Obviously he contributes twoards the household bills but you can't live somewhere for nothing! I have paid all mortgage payments, endowment and deposit since day 1.

Posted - 02 September 2010 : 16:26:33 My husband is self employed but heavily in debt. He pays half council tax bill, phone and electrity and some money towards food. I pay for everything else. He has done no home improvements. I paid the deposit and all mortgage payments. Endowment is in my sole name.
We bought the house in 1993 and he signed it over to me in 1994 after an affair and it is registered with the land registry as belonging to me.

Posted - 02 September 2010 : 15:32:48 Has your husband worhed throughout and has he paid for anything else instead of mortgage payments such as the household bills or shopping regularly, Also has he made any improvements to the property or paid anything to the deposit.
Finally how long have you owned the house, how long have you lived together and why is the property in one name only
