I am co-habiting and have been with my partner for ten years. I am not on his mortgage and never have been and due to my financial circumstances I have not contributed to the house in any way for the last three years. I have my own property which I am trying to sell as I am unable to afford the mortgage repayments. At present I have someone living there who is helping me out. Would my partners house be at risk if I were to declare myself bankrupt. I also have bank loans which were taken out when I my salary was twice as much as it is now. I don't know what is the best way for me to go. Please can you advise.

You may want to speak directly to one of the experts below:

Reviva UK: http://www.revivauk.com/
Jones Giles - http://www.jonesgiles.co.uk/

Although you haven't been contributing to the house for the last 3 years presumably you did for the previous 7. As you have lived in the property for so long the OR may deem that you have an interest in the property. It is best to speak to one of the professionals as it may be a case of how you word your petition when you declare BR and what you say in your OR's interview.
