Posted - 22 September 2010 : 12:02:51 Pete.pg If and when you go bankrupt as a sole trader, you have to continue to trade under that name. If you traded under a different name, you would be contravening one of the restrictions placed on you in bankruptcy.
Yes the bankruptcy does get advertised in the London Gazette(a publication that all financial institutions have access to), and in a local paper. As Paul said, there are possible misconduct issues if you take deposits for work, knowing that you may be insolvent( in OR terms - Trading whilst knowing insolvent or TKI).
The other question is, what type of business do you run? is your home your trading address, or is it elsewhere, do you hold stock, and do you employ anyone?but as previously stated get advice from one of the experts on this forum.
