Hi- I hope you can help.
)1 - I owe approx. £10,000 on my credit card and it was in a joint name with my wife until two months ago. We are now seperated and I had my wifes name removed from the statement. If I filed for bancruptcy would courts/creditors be able to persue the debt to my estranged wife and would it complicate my banckruptcy application?

2)- I was living apart from my wife when I applied for credit card but I gave my home address as that of my wifes address (a council home), because I had no fixed address at the time. Do you think this would be investigated and I could be accused of gaining the credit card under false pretenses?

I owe approx £18,000 to creditors and have visited CAB for advice but although the CAB have been helpful they cannot seem to"advise" me but just tell me all my options and now I'm totally confused.

Your help would be very much appreciated

Anthony

Hi
You can always call one of the experts here to have a char about your options.

Regarding the credit card- you can't have a joint credit card. Instead you have the account holder ( you) and a secondary card holder ( your wife) so the debt is your whether your wives name is in the account or not.
