Please help.. i have been married for 2 yrs and my husband is the sole owner with the deeds and mortgage in his name which was like this when i met him.. i have a large amount of debt and am considering declaring myself bankrupt.. how would this affect my husbands assets? and will his house be taken off him (

Bev,
assuming you do petition for bankruptcy, the OR will do a search on Land Registry to see who is the owner of the address at which you live. If as you say the property is solely owned by your husband, then they will take no further action, they will just mark on their records, "owned by another".

However they do have the option of carrying out an historical Land Registry search to see if there has been any change in the ownership say from joint to sole ownership in the last 5 years.
