We have finally found a property to rent but the agents want 3 months bank statements, the problem we have is, they aren't pretty reading, heavily overdrawn, overdraft charges galore with more money going out than in, obviously part of the reasons for BR so would this info make them decide not to sign us up?
Or are they just checking that we have an active bank account, but on the flip side to that we have JUST opened a co-op cashminder account from where the rent will come out of.
Does anyone have any similar experiences to ourselves and how you got round this.
Thanks in advance

When do you need to move into the property? Is there anyway you can leave the move until you have had your Co-op account for 3 months and then provide those bank statements? If not then there isn't a lot you can do except provide the bank statements and see what happens. Unless you decide to tell them that you are planning to declare BR so won't have these debts in the future?

The other option is to look for a property that is privately rented as private landlords won't normally do a credit check or ask for bank statements.
