Posted - 29 October 2010 : 18:21:55 after waiting for a month for my termination certificate to come through from my IVA which I had been in for the last 3 years, I plucked up the courage to go to court today with my completed bankruptcy forms. The man at the counter was really nice about it and even cracked some jokes while he was checking my papers through. I didnt have to see the judge personally, but I was moved to a waiting room just incase he wanted to see me, and then moved again once my papers had been signed and just had to wait 10 mins for them to be typed up. They then explained I would be contacted today by my OR to arrange the interview etc. OR has contacted and my interview is over the telephone on 4th November at 8.45am. I feel like a big weight has been lifted of my shoulders already even though I still got the interview to come, but im use to the interviews more with being in a IVA previously. Just hope all goes well on thursday, thanks for people who gave me advice about 6 weeks ago when I first registered, its nice to know you are not alone. Will keep you all updated |

Posted - 04 November 2010 : 15:21:46 Glad to hear that everything went well for you - your comments will give others currently going through the process or considering the process, confidence that it is not going to be anywhere near as bad as they thought (it never is!)
People I have assisted through the process often tell me that they have the best nights sleep in ages, either following the court date or the OR interview.
Please keep posting your positive comments will really help others!

Posted - 04 November 2010 : 11:04:16 well I had my OR interview this morning with the examiner, everything went really well, I was just completly honest with her. We just went through my bankruptcy forms wich I had completed for court. I even get to keep my car which is on a HP agreement, and carry on paying the monthly payments as normal due to I have only 8 months left on the agreement and she said it was not worth them taking the car and also I have to travel quite a distance to work. She informed me that I have no IPA to pay and explained that my tax code would change and that the tax that I dont then pay thorugh my wages will need to be paid to the OR each month. With my debts been quite old and also being in a IVA for just over 3 years, I havent got to send any old statements in to the OR office unless they request specifically at a later date. The telephone interview only lasted 35 minutes and most of it was just confirming what I had included in my SAO. She said there it is likely that I may be early discharged before June next year but they will write and clarify this in the future. Still hasnt sunk in yet that I have completed everything, my mind just feels abit numb that im not constantly worrying about what im going to do next with my debt. |
