I am a support worker with a service user who wants to file for bankruptcy. Welfare rights are involved. How do we get the fees, severn trent said no, EDF and charis Grants said no as did others. if you have any advice i would be grateful as my service user is getting hassled by lots of creditors

Hi Tim

if your service user was ex military they may be entitled to financial support.

change phone or do not answer.

Fail telephone security questions !

CAB are helpful but you may have to wait as their services are in demand.

Dont know level of debt but if payments are significant, once the client has elected that BR is right choice do not make any further payments to creditors, use the saved money to put aside for BR fees.

The only advice i can give is to speak with your local CAB - they can apply for any available vouchers under the scheme. The CAB will also complete the forms for free and provide valuable face to face contact to assist your client
