Today I finally submitted my petition for bankruptcy at court, and as I had been advised by my bankruptcy advisor it was actually far easier and less painful a process than I had at first feared, and was all over within an hour.
I had been so worried and had been fighting the inevitable for over two years. It feels like such a relief now and I have to say the process in court was far less terrifying than I thought it would be and all the staff in court were very friendly, helpful and non-judgmental.
Is there any further advice that anyone can give me about how to move forward from here. What are th ehardest things to deal with?

Thanks in advance for your help

Julie is an experienced HR manager and she correctly states that BR can possibly affect some types of employment.

Anyone who is unsure whether their employment would be affected by BR should check their contract of employment, and if they still aren't sure they need to check with HR.

Hello CD1

Bankruptcy is indeed an effective debt relief process. However, you ought to be aware that it would affect your credit score badly. So try hard to repair your credit in the post bankruptcy days. I am not too sure whether you can be discriminated solely on the basis of bankruptcy in terms of employment opportunities unless it is specified in the agreement. So I beg to disagree with Julie in this respect.

Hi cd1,

Well done..it is a relief isn't it?

To be honest BR hasn't affected us yet...okay we had to pay over the odds to get a car lease, but that was done during IVA.

Possibly BR can affect some types of employment and of course it has to be declared when asked, but so far so good.
