Posted - 19 November 2010 : 20:11:25 hi. this is my first (but probably not last, lol) question. my husband is going bankrupt next week. I have a teenage son who is partially sighted with austic spectrum disorders, as such he has a large screen tv, numerous games consoles and lots of games and gadgets as well as ornament collections. he doesnt go out and spends all his time in his room. will the or take his stuff? it has all been paid for with this disability liviLng allowance. also i have a car which is worth more than £2,500 (i do not own it my mum bought it and i am paying a loan back on it) will the or be able to take that too? all the debt is in my husbands name only and my car is in my name only. many thanks.

As Richard says, the OR is not a monster and will only be interested in determining what your hubby can pay back (if anything).
Your hubby will have a telephone call with the OR ( ask if you can go on speakerphone, so you can talk too), explain everything to the OR and you will be fine.

The OR is not a monster and your sons possessions should be safe
it is your Hubby going BR not you so your car should not be a problem.
welcome to the forum and hope that collectively we can help or point you towards someone that can help.
