Well, this is it, Off to court on Thursday to register for BR, I need to say a HUGE, HUGE Thank You to all who post & reply to posts on this site. I have been popping in and out of the forums over the last couple of months, reading & digesting all the advice given so cleary on this site. I feel massive relief as I move forward & I know that I have this forum to thank for that. I now know that this is the right decision for me after years & years of trying to cope. Thanks again to all you marvelous experts out there. where would we be without you? I hope to come back to you soon with my experience in court!!! Keep those fingers crossed for me! |

Telephone interview with OR over, think this was the part I was dreading most!
Hubby first which lasted an hour . Hubby answered ALL the questions! My interview invovled 1 question and then information given to me by the OR re the BI on the property.
Seems that's it until the New Year.
Can't say I wasn't stressed but as long as everything is organised and in front of you then everything will be ok.
Off for a Stiff drink at/with our fabulous, supportive friends.
And once again Thank You to everyone who posts/advises on here.

As Paulgm has stated - the OR interview really is not as bad as people think - the rolw of the person on the end of the tlephone, is to establish your cause of failure, investigate any inconsistancies, and importantly to provide you with the advice you require - apart from the examiner wanting answers to his/her questions, they are also available to answer any questions you may have.
Try not to worry, have a copy of your forms in front of you, and you will hear the examiner turning the pages and you will be able to see where they are asking the questions from.
You have done the hardest part, in accepting that you needed help,and then following through the process and filing for bankruptcy, just try to keep focussed and relaxed , I appreciate that it is hard, and probably not what you want to do, but it will all be worth it in the end! You will be debt free!!!
Good luck for Thursday (but you won't need it, honest!

Thanks for those words of encouragement. I AM worrying about the interview. I think I have been worrying for so many years that it has become a habit!
I shall make sure I am organised on the day & will try not to think that I am about to be judged. Fingers crossed, yet again. |

Hi, don't worry about the interview as all. I thought my case was complex and I would have an interview lasting about 1 hour and that I would get a grilling!
In reality, it was a young girl on the other end of the phone who was very nice and friendly. They simply went through the form and asked me to confirm everything. Only lasted 20 minutes and then I wondered what all the fuss was about.
So don't worry, you'll be fine!

1 week after BR & still coping! I have now recieved my date for telephone interview with OR, Monday 13th December. I'm sure it will be rather stressful as it will be the first time I have had to talk about (and admit to) my mistakes!! One huge plus side is that those awful telephone calls have stopped & my letterbox now has the odd Christmas card in and not a lot else!! My heart does still jump when someone comes to the door but I'm surt that will lesson in time. Good luck to everyone out there & keep smiling. |

Well, today went well, 1st in front of the clerk who, I have to say, was not at all friendly. He gave a HUGE sigh as he came over, hardly any eye contact and that made things even more stressful!! Then I had to take the files up to the court usher &, luckily enough, didn't even have to see a judge. Papers signed, stamped then and off home all within half an hour. WOW what a situation, Just didn't seem real. I think I am very intimidated by these surroundings Later I had the call from the OR's office, a lovely guy who couldn't have been nicer. He asked a few questions and told me that the OR will be in touch for a telephone interview over the next 10 - 14 days, no sooner as they have a HUGE backlog. Glad that today is over & thanks for your support. |
