i cannot afford the court fee to declare myself bankrupt. can anything be done about this? |

The above replies to your message are, of course, correct but unfortunately if you have not been in the Services, there may be a problem. It is highly likely that you would have to pay the £450 OR's fees at the very minimum. I would suggest that, if you are on benefits, you might like to ask the Job Centre if you could get a loan against future benefit payments. If you are in employment, you woulfd probably have to save up for the fees.
I know that it is not what you want to hear but do remember that for the money, all or most of your debts will be written off.

Hi Nick,
if you are ex forces, contact your local SSAFA forces help who once they have taken details etc, will then try and raise some money through a Regimental association.
If not, then you should speak to CAB

I believe ex-Forces can receive assistance from SSAFA otherwise the CAB may be able to help.
If you are planning to declare BR then you should stop paying your creditors and use that money for the fee.
Some people on very low income need several months to save up for the fee and, unfortunately, there is very little that can be done. You could try to get a creditor to declare you BR but it's only really the Council and HMRC that follow through with their threats and declare you BR. The rest of the creditors just say they will declare you BR as a threat to try to make you pay. |
