hi everyone,
i went b/rupt in july,(i am a 56 year old male living on his own in a housing assoc. flat), i have recently filled in an i/e form,
and i have now recieved an ipa agreeement to sign for £170 per month,
my question is when i filled in the form i didnt know about places like this to ask questions, so i filled the form in as i thought was correct, after looking around and reading about ipa`s i didnt know i could put down tv lic, holiday, pet food, prescriptions, car repairs etc, my monthly income is £1080,my disposable income was £280 but if i count these other expenses it goes down to about £180, i have 8 days to reply to this ipa agreement letter any advice appreciated,if required i can do a ful i/e list.
many thanks
eddie

whilst waiting for the OR to reply go through all of your bank account statements and write ot every thing that you spend (scarry)

You are employed so you may have work related expenses. I was allowed to claim safety boots and safety equipment as i could show link to work.

Normally when you receive the IPA form it just mentions the amount you are to pay without a breakdown in the figures. Write back to the OR asking for a breakdown of the figures and you can then check what they have/haven't allowed. If they haven't included the things you weren't aware you could claim for i.e. TV licence, etc. then you can mention these to the OR.

Asking for a breakdown of the IPA figures is perfectly acceptable to the OR and you won't be seen as being awkward or trying to get out of paying the IPA.
