Posted - 17 January 2011 : 05:59:39 hi, i have just been declared bankrupt,i owe about 3800, i have equity in my house, would they allow my partner to pay off these debts as the last thing i want is to lose my house? |

Posted - 18 January 2011 : 23:25:05 after you are made Br then to annul the bankruptcy you will need to have all your unsecured debts paid PLUS the official receivers fees.

yes you were right, i also have a joint loan with my partner which i said ok i understand that & then she delivered the big one, i have to pay OR £1700 to them, i know its my fault i'm in this mess, but they don't make it easy! |

i have mentioned to them on the phone that i would like to do, but they said that may be difficult & to wait till i see them tomorrow, can't believe i've got myself in this mess!! |

It sounds likely that your partner will be asked to contribute as he may be required to purchase your equity in the house by the OR.
