Posted - 17 January 2011 : 23:17:39 We are being taken to bankruptcy court for £1000. After we received the papers we phoned the company but they would only accept payment in full even though the letter said we could make a payment arrangement.we brought the debt to below 750,but they are still going ahead with the order.we have asked for proof that the debt is ours but 3 months later have received nothing.can they still proceed even though the debt is below 750.

Posted - 18 January 2011 : 00:28:15 Hi Chris, the level at which a bankruptcy petition can be presented is £750, so if you have proof that the payment was made and reduced the amount owing to less than £750, then they couldn't.
