Posted - 20 January 2011 : 16:59:16 hi, me and my wife are in negative equity on our house. i have been laid off work, but my wife still works. her wage doesnt cover the food and utility bills. could you please give me advice on whether you think we would be accepted for bankrupcy. we have not paid the mortgage for 7 months and the bank are now sending us letters, which are very worrying

you would "qualify" for bankruptcy
unless still in IVA
or
UK has not been your centre of main interest for majority of past 6 months
