Thanks, I already have a co-op cashminder account which I opened when I was in my IVA, (IVA failed hence going Bankrupt). This account is where my salary is paid and DD for bills and mortgage etc are paid from. Unfortunately I will be getting paid my salary on the day I go to court. What should I do about money in my account.

Definately open your new bank account BEFORE you go to court.

This will ensure a smooth transition and will allow you time to get the standing orders and organised and make sure you get paid into the new account.

Don't go to court the day after you have been paid because the OR may be interested in the cash and you just don;t need that stress right after court.

Hi Heidi and welcome to the forum.

It's not the OR who freezes your bank account, it's the bank's decision when they are notified by the OR.

If the OR has no interest in the account s/he will advise the bank of this, and then it's down to the bank as to whether you can keep the account.

It's always advisable to open a BR friendly account such as the Co-op Cashminder.
